1516

The German Purity Law was signed

The German Purity Law, known as the Reinheitsgebot, was enacted in 1516 to regulate beer production. It allowed only barley, hops, and water as ingredients, ensuring quality and tradition.

1894

The first Helles was brewed in Bavaria

In 1894, Bavarian brewers created Helles, a smooth, golden lager with a balanced malt sweetness. It quickly became a staple in Munich and beyond.

1953

Oberdorf becomes the town of Marktoberdorf

In 1953, the marketplace Oberdorf was officially granted town status and renamed Marktoberdorf. This marked a new chapter in its history and development.

1985

The first Oberdorfer beer was brewed
